Theories
- Constructivism: Each lesson builds on students experiences, and they are prompted at several points to share and compare their findings
- Inquiry Based Learning: Students are prompted to research and develop solutions to a central guiding question. They discover and develop their own solutions to the problem.
- Blooms Taxonomy: Each activity requires a mix of lower and higher order skills to complete. Remembering and Understanding underpins the earlier analysis of the Australian guide to healthy eating; Creating and Evaluating is essential later on in the unit.
- Differentiation: Easier lower order research questions are mixed with harder higher order research questions. Each lesson also includes an extension task for early finishers.
